KTZ Expedition Sled in the expedition to the Arctic Ocean
Our products, namely the KTZ Expedition Sled, took part in the Ekaterinburg – Arctic Ocean snowmobile expedition!
03.29.2017, in Ekaterinburg, the expedition will start on the laying of the “North” snowmobile route, which will connect Yekaterinburg with the coast of the Arctic Ocean. The participants of the long trip explore the possibility of developing snowmobile tourism in our region along the Ural Mountains from south to north.
– In five weeks, snowmobiles will travel a long way through the mountains of Kachkanar, Konzak stone, the Main Ural Mountains, various villages and cities, such as Kytlym, Kalya, Vizhay, Vorkuta, Labytnangi. The road of our travelers will pass through Salekhard, The Dyatlov Pass and the famous stone pillars of the Manpupunyur plateau. In total, the expedition will pass through the territory of five regions. These include the Sverdlovsk Region, the Perm Region, the Komi Republic, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District.
The ultimate goal of the expedition will be the Kara Sea coast of the Arctic Ocean on the eastern slope of the Ural Mountains. To this point the participants of the tourist arrival are planning to get on March 20.
in the past, already have been made attempts to build a snowmobile trail. But, for example, in 2016, travelers were prevented by early spring: melted snow and positive temperatures became an obstacle for snowmobiles.
During the current arrival, travelers will for the first time overcome the full route and, in addition, make a “pioneer” of an undiscovered part of the route through the territory of the Republic of Komi and the YNAO. The equipment for the expedition will be transported by KTZ Expedition sleds.
It should be noted that the over-snow expedition from Yekaterinburg to the Arctic Ocean in the long term is wanted to be made yearly. Business will not be limited to a single tourist action: in the future, the route laid will become a valid snowmobile road with a tourist infrastructure: parking places and overnight stays, gas stations and repairs.
An interesting project is carried out under the flag of the Russian Geographical Society. The Motorsport Federation of the Sverdlovsk Region, the regional center for tourism development, tour operators and private investors also helped to organize the expedition.
